This option is for folks hoping to book an extended individual session.

Hello - I’m Meghan, a Registered Clinical Counsellor living and practicing in Vancouver, BC, also known as the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh).

I am currently accepting new clients, and if you’re currently searching for a new counsellor, we might be a great fit. I encourage you to give me a call or shoot me a text at 304-913-2161, or email me at our.hidden.gems@proton.me, to discuss your healing journey. Alternatively, you’re welcome to book a free-consultation or full session if you’re ready to get started.

The Nitty-Gritty: Please see below for some additional details about my practice.

What type of counselling do I offer? Right now, I am only offering virtual (video or phone) sessions. In-person counselling will be available later this year. Outreach counselling can be provided for unique cases.

What is my counselling style and approach? It’s a big question - in short, I use an integrative approach. This is a fancy way of saying I use a handful of clinical approaches, and mix and match based on a case-by-case basis. Each client receives unique treatment based on what they enjoy (or don’t), what their issues or goals are, and is evidence-based (backed up by research).

What are my ‘go-to’ styles and counselling approaches? Emotion-focused therapy, mind-body therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, somatic therapy, person-centred therapy, feminist therapy, and Adlerian therapy. All of my work is informed by interpersonal neurobiology, polyvagal, and attachment theory.

What type of clients and issues do I work with? My specialty is trauma therapy, and helping individuals with trauma to create and maintain meaningful and safe relationships. Below are a list of folks/issues that I specialize in supporting to develop relationships: - post-traumatic stress disorder - complex trauma - childhood trauma/developmental trauma - attachment wounds/inner child work - intergenerational trauma - family trauma - mother-daughter family counselling - parent-child family counselling - folks with autism, autism spectrum disorder, identify as autistic, or neurodivergence - men with histories of violence or anger issues - gender and sexual minorities, including polyamorous, or those practicing non-monogamy - folks who identify with borderline personality disorder are welcome - co-parenting, divorce counselling, separation counselling, breakup counselling

Didn’t see yourself there? No worries - because I’m an adventurous therapist, I love working with all sorts of clients, issues, and goals; however, it’s important for clients to know that while I am open to learning how best to support you, some issues and types of therapy require special attention and credentials. If I’m not qualified to support you, I will support you to find a clinician who is.

If you identify as black, indigenous, or a person-of-colour, an immigrant, refugee, survivor of childhood sexual abuse or sexual violence, or a gender minority, and would like to discuss sliding-scale options, please include that when you reach out
